Spring has brought a lot of energy, connection, and meaningful moments at Fostering Families. From county outreach to sweet family celebrations, we’ve been grateful for so many opportunities to wrap support around foster, adoptive, and kinship families. Here are a few highlights from the past couple of months!
Supporting Our Counties
We kicked off the season by dropping off coffee, cookies, and treats to the Foster Care and Adoptions programs across our surrounding counties. It was a simple way to say what we truly mean: we see you, we value you, and we’re thankful for the care you give to children and families every day.
Lunch & Learn
More than 20 friends and community partners joined us for a thoughtful Lunch & Learn with Katherine Judd from Lavender House Counseling. Her insight into anxiety in children and young adults led to great conversation - and offered caregivers and professionals practical, encouraging tools to support the emotional well-being of the children they serve.
Service Day with St. Leo Middle School
We loved welcoming St. Leo Middle School to our location for a full morning of service. Their enthusiasm and willingness to jump in made a real difference - and it was a joy to give students a hands-on way to care for foster families in our community.
Easter Egg Roll
Our annual Easter Egg Roll - hosted with our friends at Out of the Box with Genevieve and Crossnore - was a wonderful day from start to finish. We welcomed over 100 peoplefrom four counties for laughter, sunshine, and plenty of excitement. The eggs were a hit, but the cow train truly stole the show - bringing smiles to kids and grown-ups alike.
Respite Night with Circle of St. Joseph
In collaboration with Circle of St. Joseph at Holy Family Catholic Church, we hosted a much-needed respite night for caregivers. Kids enjoyed pizza, games, and crafts - while parents received a rare and valuable evening for a date night or some well-deserved “me time.”
